Gateway Coffee Roasters, is a great coffee shop in Tha Phae area and belongs to the same chain as GRAPH Cafe. It comes with a good quality coffee menu that coffee lovers will definitely like. Very well known and must be pinned on a trip when visiting Chiang Mai the next time.
Charming Rustic Style
The shop is on the second floor of the old building. We can see the old window, floor and balcony, which is known as the classic pair with the Thapae door. The interior is divided into zones to welcome customers. The coffee roasting zone was created in cooperation with GRAPH one nimman to show off the coffee itself. The Slow Bar and Espresso coffee will both be served so every aficionado will be able to get his own special creation.
The coffee beans used by the shop is a Thai coffee from Huai Chomphu, Doi Chang and Khun Chang Khian. The seeds used to make espresso are blended by the name Cold Wood Blend. In addition, the shop also has a special menu every month. For this month, it is Hibernate (145 baht) , a special Latte coffee. Made with Maple Panacotta, added a sweetness with honeycomb and orange flesh. By that way it’s suitable for people who drink strong coffee.
Next is a refreshing drink called Thapae Gate (145 baht) . Cold brew coffee with Curaçao Triple Sec gives a soft citrus aroma that makes it smooth. The aroma of light coffee is the signature of the shop. Followed by a drink for those who do not drink coffee called Orange Hill (140 baht). Rich cocoa with Tripple Sec Orange topped with whipped cream and orange peel to add a fresh aroma. Finish the list with Italian style Affogato (140 baht), chocolate ice cream, sprinkled with nuts, decorated with white chocolate balls. Served with an espresso shot over the ice cream..
In terms of sweets, the shop has many choices, too. The items are fresh made, day by day. Recommended treats are Yuzu Lemon Tart (120 baht) . A lemon tart with yuzu scent makes it both sour and aromatic. Followed by the mellow sweet taste of tart itself. Culminating with the best-selling item on the menu, the Chocolate Canale (85 baht) , chocolate-filled canals, topped with chocolate sauce on top. The bitter taste is perfectly sweet.
